SPECIES TRANSPLANT<\/h1>\n

As part of extensive work, Androm\u00e8de Oc\u00e9anologie is carrying out transplants of protected species such as marine phanerogams and different types of gorgonians and corals.<\/p>\n

Regarding Posidonia (Posidonia oceanica), Androm\u00e8de Oc\u00e9anologie carried out the last three main transplanting and transplanting projects carried out in France and Monaco.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Transplant of 500m2 from Posidonia to Monaco.<\/a>\n

    2. Transplanting of Posidonia from a furrow dug in a herbarium after a navigation accident in Monaco.<\/p>\n

    3.REPIC project to restore the Posidonia herbarium in the Crouton cove in Antibes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Concerning the Monegasque project, the method developed by Androm\u00e8de (SafeBent\u00ae) consists in removing a clod using a modified and marinized Optimal 600 transplanter comprising the living herbarium, its matte and the underlying sediment in order to preserve the structure of the herbarium and place them in large containers of sufficient depth to accommodate the matte (approximately 90 cm in diameter and 60 cm in depth). They are then moved to a nearby receiving site, presenting environmental conditions favorable to the development of the herbarium.<\/p>\n

    Main advantages of this method:<\/h2>\n

      speed of execution (approximately 20 m\u00b2 per day).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      conservation of the structure of the herbarium (mat and beams).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • conservation of the sediment around the roots.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      500 m\u00b2 of herbarium were transplanted in 24 days with survival at T + 2 years> 70%.<\/p>\n
