Mapping/GIS

Mapping – and especially biocenosis mapping – is the basic prerequisite for analysing the initial status of a site, be it for sustainable development purposes or integrated coastal management.

This task implies gathering, processing and restoring a huge amount of widely varying data: side-scan sonar readings, single- and/or multibeam bathymetry, aerial and/or satellite photography, direct observation by diving and/or on-board cameras, sampling, etc.

Andromede has all these systems and the skills required to use them and furnish geographical information consistent with thematic, geographical, geometrical and computing plans to be integrated into a GIS.

We have also developed new methodologies in this field such as micro-mapping by acoustic telemetry (for accuracy up to 1/50th).
